Anyone can participate!
Organizations and leaders that want to spread the word about the value of our most essential resource and why the infrastructure that provides water and wastewater service should not be taken for granted should join. In the past, water and wastewater providers and agencies, mayors, local officials, contractors, civil engineers, schools, and aquariums have all participated in Imagine a Day Without Water.

We encourage you to use our resources or create your own resources to help spread the word about the importance of water infrastructure to every community. This is a great day to educate the public about the importance of learning about where their water comes from, how their water systems work, and any water challenges affecting the community. You can advocate to leaders to invest in your water systems and address water challenges. If you need some ideas to get started, check out our list of ways to participate.
-
Go for it! We encourage you to participate in whatever way best fits your organization and your community. We recognize the water challenges a community faces can vary widely based on climate, geography, financial resources, and other factors. You should adopt a message that reflects your community’s needs.
